We have over 18 years of experience of working in schools from when N-Gage was first founded by Christie Spurling MBE in 2006 in response to his own experiences of educational exclusion. Getting alongside students who are disengaged from education and are at risk of exclusion is at the heart of what we do. Our approach has led to dramatic improvements both in behaviour and school participation. Over the years we have been trusted to work with hundreds of pupils in schools across Greater Manchester and Cheshire

Long term Intervention

1-2-1 Mentoring Sessions

These 1-2-1 sessions are helpful to students who are disengaged with schools, lessons, and education, through disruptive behaviour or lack of attendance. It gives them the opportunity to speak to someone outside of their school environment who they can trust. Our mentors will spend time getting to know each student, seeing what issues they are dealing with at school and at home, and helping them to re-engage with education

Short term interventions

Group Courses 

10-week programmes that help students find their place, see the bigger picture, and develop personal and social skills  

The Beats – This is a music enterprise project, using a variety of formats pupils will create an album to raise fund for a charity of the groups choosing, pitch the album in an assembly, and see who can raise the most for charity.  

Elevate – A ten-week deep dive into the most current issues young people face in and out of school, including citizenship Teamwork video diaries plus lots of other topics.  

Inspire – A programme targeted specifically at girls, looking at some of the issues they face in a supportive environment, where there is no such thing as a silly question, topics can include, relationships, Friendships, self-esteem. and lots more

Workshops & Assemblies 

One-off sessions for groups that can cover teaching and discussions on several relevant topics, for example drugs, crime, and prison. Bullying – plus any subjects you want us to create a session for, 

Assembly – inspirational talk from Christie about his life and background.

A typical small group session is 2 hours long, which is usually 2 lesson periods. And 121’s typically run from 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the school’s needs. Please write what time slot you require us to fill in the space below. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee the slot selected and would advise schools to return forms promptly to ensure their preferred days.
