Keen runner Sam Phillis had an extra special end to her Manchester 10k run when after picking up her finishing pack she was able to meet celebrity race starter Fabrice Muamba.
Ex-footballer Muamba suffered a cardiac arrest during a televised FA Cup match between Bolton and Totenham Hotspur in March 2012, from which he recovered despite his heart having stopped for more than an hour. Following medical advice, he announced his retirement from professional football in August 2012. He was invited by Bupa Great Manchester run to start the race this year.
Sam, who has completed her 2nd 10k run for N-Gage was able to have a quick chat with Fabrice and get a photo too! Well done Sam and well done to all our runners who have raised over £5000 to go toward the work of N-Gage!
